AAA Supports Efforts to Craft Airlines Assistance Package and to Increase Security Measures.

AAA also said government, consumers and airlines must assume greater responsibility for keeping the nation's aviation system operating.

Darbelnet said AAA supports sweeping efforts to strengthen security at the nation's airports in this time of crisis.

AAA advises that as many U.S. citizens resume business and leisure travel, each person should consider travel options consistent with the circumstances CIRCUMSTANCES, evidence. The particulars which accompany a fact.

For those traveling by air, AAA recommends the following:
-- Before going to the airport, call the airline or your travel agent to check
the status of your flight's departure.

-- Curbside check-in for passengers has been discontinued, so expect to proceed
directly to the ticket counter.

-- Some airlines may have new requirements, such as exchanging an e-ticket for
a boarding pass or paper ticket at the airline ticket counter rather than the
gate. Call your airline prior to leaving for the airport and ask about new
security measures they have instituted.

-- Do not carry any sharp objects, such as a pocketknife or scissors and nail
clippers on your person or in your carry-on luggage. These are likely to be
confiscated.

-- Arrive at the airport at least two to three hours ahead of time for a
domestic flight, and at least three hours ahead of time for an international
flight.

-- Understand that airports will be crowded and operating under heightened
security. Anticipate that you will need to comply with additional requests from
police, airport security and airline personnel.

-- Be prepared for more rigorous security checks than in the past. Expect more
frequent hand inspection of carry-on luggage.

-- Carry two photo identifications with you.

-- Do not leave luggage unattended or carry anything on board an airplane for
someone you don't know.
