"Doug Bower has proven himself to be an exceptional leader," said Charles H. Podowski, The Auto Club Group's President and CEO. "He has made a qualitative difference in our member service operations, particularly in the call centers, in the time he has been with The Auto Club Group." As AAA Michigan's new president, Mr. Bower's top priority will be to deepen the Club's relationships with AAA members, Mr. Podowski added.

Prior to joining AAA, Mr. Bower was VP of marketing, collections and finance at Advanta Corporation. He has also worked at CIGNA and MBNA in similar positions. He holds an MBA from Philadelphia College of Textile & Science.

Mr. Bower will succeed Ted R. Gambill, who will move to AAA Wisconsin, another ACG affiliate, where he will serve as that club's President and COO. AAA Michigan has more than 1.7 million members and offers an array of products and services, including automotive, travel, insurance and financial services.
