AAA Announces 1999-2001 Preferred Supplier Program.

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 1998--Continental Airlines Vacations and Disney Cruise Line have been added to AAA's 1999-2001 preferred supplier lineup bringing the total number of partnerships to 23. (See attached list.)

"All of our preferreds have consistently demonstrated their commitment to the AAA organization and to our 40 million members," said Jack E. Mannix, managing director, AAA Travel Related Services. "Our sales have grown dramatically since we instituted the preferred supplier program four years ago and our vendors, clubs and AAA members have realized the benefits."

The final selection of the 1999-2001 preferred suppliers was based on the supplier's overall performance and the composite value of the offer to AAA and its members. A key consideration also was AAA's ability to effectively support the supplier's sales and marketing needs so that both entities gain.

Three of the tour suppliers, Continental Airlines Vacations, Kingdom Vacations, and Northwest WorldVacations, have a regional designation to accommodate offices in specific areas; their services will be promoted to a limited group of offices. Overall, however, "the net number of national suppliers decreased as our offices recognize the importance of focusing on a limited number of quality vendors," said Mannix.

AAA's full line of travel services are available at more than 1,000 offices in the United States and Canada. AAA also offers its members insurance, financial and auto-related products and services. -0-
