A380 completes flight to London

An A380, the world's largest aircraft, touched down at London's Heathrow Airport Tuesday afternoon, completing it's first commercial flight to Europe.

Singapore Airlines Flight SQ308 touched down 15 minutes ahead of schedule with 449 passengers on board.

The A380 is as tall as a seven-story building and can seat more than 800 passengers, depending on seat configuration.

Currently the plane's sole operator, Singapore Airlines flies its two other A380s daily between Singapore and Sydney.

The first A380 was delivered to Singapore Airlines in October — 18 months behind schedule after billions of dollars in cost overruns for planemaker Airbus.
