 CHULA VISTA, Calif., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Airbus Industrie's


A330, powered by GE CF6-80E1 engines with Rohr nacelles, flew for the first time Nov. 2, in a highly successful mission lasting five hours and 15 minutes. The nacelle is the complex aerodynamic structure that surrounds an aircraft engine.
 The world's largest twin-engine widebody aircraft now enters a 12-month certification program with the GE engines and Rohr nacelles.
 Rohr (NYSE: RHR), under a life-of-program contract, signed in 1990 with GE Aircraft Engines, has delivered two shipsets of nacelles, plus spares to date, and is scheduled to deliver two shipsets in its fiscal year 1993 (beginning Aug. 1, 1992) and eight shipsets in fiscal year 1994.
 French carrier Air Inter, which has placed 15 firm orders and 15 options for the GE-powered A330s, will receive its first aircraft in November of 1993. GE-powered A330s have also been ordered by Los Angeles-based International Lease Finance Corp. and Continental Airlines.
 Rohr designs, integrates, manufactures and supports engine nacelle systems and components for commercial, military and business aircraft. The company also manufactures solid rocket motor casings and nozzles for the Titan IV launch vehicle. Rohr, headquartered in Chula Vista, has facilities in the United States and Europe.
