A2iA Takes First Place Among Corporations in Arabic and French Handwriting Recognition Competition.A2iA receives top honors at international scientific conference dedicated to document processing and image analysis

ICDAR, International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition, is the leading international scientific event in the field of document processing and image analysis. Held every two years, it brings together researchers, university laboratories and businesses.
Hosted in Barcelona, Spain, in July, A2iA participated in the Arabic and French handwriting recognition competitions. Participants were asked to submit the results obtained from their automated recognition system from images of handwritten words.
* Arabic Handwriting Recognition Competition: A2iA presented the results of a new automated system developed in cooperation with the Telecom ParisTech Engineer School (Laurence Likforman). Still experimental, this new system offers promising results and opens significant market opportunities.
* French Handwriting Recognition Competition (Without Accent Detection): A2iA combined its own handwritten word recognition engine with a new system developed in cooperation with Telecom ParisTech (Laurence Likforman) and the University of Balamand, Libanon (Ramy El-Hajj and Chafic Mokbel).
