``Cathy is getting better each year and I feel she still hasn't reached her potential yet,'' coach Jeff Smith said. ``I feel if she runs more she will will vastly improve from last year.''

Ramirez, who won the Golden League title last year, was followed by senior Kelsey Wright, who finished fourth.

``Kelsey has progressed over last year,'' Smith said. ``The way she has been running this year, I expect her to be all-league.''

The top Bulldogs' finisher among freshmen was Mario Salguero, who ended in the top 20.

``Mario just came out for the team just to keep in shape for soccer. And he is starting to lead the way for us,'' Smith said.

Senior captain Laci Fults is the most athletic on the Lancaster team and she leads by example. Rucker said Fults averages between 20 and 25 assists per game.

``Highland and Q.H. will be our key opponents,'' but he is not going to take any team lightly, Rucker said. ``We're trying to create tradition and it's getting easier.''
