A.V. VOTERS TO CHOOSE NEW MAYOR.

LANCASTER - Voters will go to the polls today to elect a new mayor and decide two City Council seats.

Running for mayor are Vice Mayor Henry Hearns, Peter B. Ware, Gene Gaynor, David Paul, Douglas Sichley and Irv Mitchell.

Running for the two council seats are incumbent Ed Sileo and challengers Nellie See Sooty albatross  Tillman, Janette Crawford, Barry White, Kenneth Williams, Roger Williams, Roger, c.1603–1683, clergyman, advocate of religious freedom, founder of Rhode Island, b. London. A protégé of Sir Edward Coke, he graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge, in 1627 and took Anglican orders.  Price, Ron Smith Ron Smith may refer to:

 is not seeking election to a sixth term. Hearns is seeking the mayor's seat rather than re-election to his council seat.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The mayor's post, a two-year term position, carries the same powers as a council position, but the mayor also chairs City Council meetings, signs documents on behalf of the city and serves as the city's chief spokesman.

Council members serve four-year terms.
