PALMDALE - Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

The Antelope Valley
 voters go to the polls today to elect California City and Palmdale City Council members, Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency directors, and Antelope Valley Hospital directors.

They also elect representatives to the state Senate, Assembly, Congress and, in Kern County, two local school districts - as well as help pick a president.

Palmdale voters also will decide Measure T, which would permit a shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into  with a Wal-Mart store in East Palmdale.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. For information on where their polling places are, Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  County voters can call (800) 815-2666. Kern County voters can call (661) 868-3590.

Running in the Palmdale special municipal election are James Root James "Jim" Root (born October 2, 1971) is one of the current guitarists for Slipknot he shares lead guitarist duties with fellow bandmate Mick Thomson. He is also the lead guitarist for Stone Sour. , Richard Loa, Alan Lee, Matthew Van Dyk and Jason Zink for one seat, and Joseph Rivera Jr., Rick Norris, John Norris, John, 1657–1711, English clergyman and philosopher. As the most prominent follower of Malebranche he wrote, in exposition of that philosopher's system, An Essay towards the Theory of the Ideal or Intelligible World (1701–4).  Mayfield and Sandy Corrales for the second seat.

The Antelope Valley Health Care District election for three directors has 10 candidates: Sandra Tulley, Abdallah Farrukh, incumbent Steve Fox Steve Fox may refer to:

, Alan Wallace, William Wheeler, Diana Wheeler, incumbent Deborah Rice, Richard Elton, Gregory Bashem and Deanna Peugeot.

Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency candidates are Robert Kopanski, incumbent George M. Lane and Terry Rice for Division 4 and Phil A. Fortin, Maurice Kunkel and David Rizzo for Division 7.

In California City, Mayor Larry Adams is challenged by Sissy sis·sy

Muroc Unified School District A unified school district is a school district which includes both primary school (kindergarten through middle school or junior high) and high school (grades 9-12). In Illinois, these districts are called unit school districts.  candidates are Jan Torres and Katrina Coullier for Seat C and Julie English and incumbent James Sommers for Seat D.

Mojave Unified School District candidates for two seats are Polly Solomon, Richard Hall, incumbent Wayne Dickerson, Fred Watts and Connie Biehl.

State Senate candidates for the 17th District are incumbent W.J. ``Pete'' Knight, R-Palmdale; Libertarian John Gibson; Democrat Richard Lott and Natural Law candidate Douglas R. Wallack.

Assembly candidates for the 36th District are incumbent George Runner, R-Lancaster; Democrat Paula Calderon, and Libertarian Gregory Bashem.

Assembly candidates for the 34th District are Republican Phil Wyman and Democrat Robert Conaway.

The 36th District covers the Los Angeles County portion of the Antelope Valley, plus Santa Clarita. The 34th District covers east Kern County and the Victorville area.

Candidates for the 25th Congressional District are incumbent Howard P. ``Buck'' McKeon, Democrat Sid Gold, Libertarian Bruce Acker and Natural Law party member Mews Small.

Candidates for the 21st Congressional District are Libertarian James Manion, Democrat Pedro ``Pete'' Martinez Jr. and incumbent Bill Thomas.
