The Antelope Valley a hotspot for child abuse, 80,000 pamphlets are going out to give tips on how to recognize and report child abuse, and telling parents how to reduce stress. The pamphlets, which have been distributed to local businesses for their customers to pick up, are being put out by The Children's Center of the Antelope Valley in conjunction with its annual ``Blue Ribbon'' campaign and National Child Abuse Prevention Month. ``This is really a child abuse prevention and awareness campaign,'' said Esther Gillies, the center's executive director. ``We are trying to take a positive approach; it is a very ugly problem.'' To kick off its awareness campaign, the child abuse center unveiled a bronze plaque in a small flower garden filled with red, white and blue petunias Monday outside the Lancaster Western Hotel Museum. The plaque asks for remembrance of children who have died from abuse - 14 in the Antelope Valley in the past five years.
