A cadre of area high school students today will take action in support of Baker's assertion. For their senior project, 12 Antelope Valley Union High School District The Antelope Valley Union High School District (A.V.U.H.S.D.) is located in the Antelope Valley area of California, in northern Los Angeles County. The district includes eight public high schools, one trade school, and two continuation high schools in the cities of Palmdale students organized the Second Annual Walk Against Hunger, which will be held today at Clear Channel Stadium. Registration booths open a half-hour before the 8 a.m. event, which includes a two-hour walk and an approximately hourlong prize ceremony. The event is open to the public. "I think it's opened their eyes, that for many people, (hunger) is an issue, that you can do something about it," Baker said. The first 250 participants who pledge $25 or more will receive a pancake breakfast and a T-shirt, and those who raise more than $250 are eligible to win one of two laptop computers.
