A.V. SENDS STRONG MESSAGE : A.V. 28, LITTLEROCK 13.

Byline: Chris Cocoles Daily News Staff Writer

Littlerock High School's impressive conquest of Highland last week had people talking around the Golden League.

The upstarts met the league's perennial masters Saturday afternoon, and Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

The Antelope Valley
sent the surging Lobos back a step.

The Antelopes cashed in on costly Littlerock mistakes and got two huge fourth-quarter plays by sophomores to win 28-13 and set up a showdown for first place against Palmdale on Friday night.

The host Lobos' 5-1 start, along with the 35-21 win at Highland a week earlier, hardly fazed faze

``They hadn't played a team like us yet,'' said A.V. quarterback Justin Mobley, who made several Houdini escapes for big gains and scored two touchdowns while producing 122 yards of total offense. ``When you play A.V., it's kind of different than Hesperia (one of the Lobos' nonleague opponents).''

In a hard-hitting game controlled by each team's defense, the Antelopes (4-2 overall, 2-0 Golden League) finished off the Lobos (5-2, 1-1) in the fourth quarter behind Jermaine Norman's 51-yard scoring run and Jon Molock's 91-yard interception return that made it 28-7 with 2:59 remaining.

``I was kind of tired,'' Molock said of his touchdown, which was set up when Ryan Wagerle's pass rush forced a bad throw by Littlerock quarterback Myles Meeden, who suffered an injury on the play and was to have an X-ray today for a possible broken rib.

Molock also recovered two fumbles, one that set up a touchdown.

Norman was forced to carry the ball in a crucial situation only because the top three runners on the Antelopes' depth chart, Andrew Campbell Andrew Campbell is the name of:

``It's paid off having young kids like that. It's nice to have them there as sophomores because by the time they're seniors we won't have to worry about them,'' A.V. coach Brent Newcomb said of Norman and Molock.

The Lobos hindered their chances with four devastating dev·as·tate
