A.V. MALL TO HOST PUBLIC SAFETY EXPO.

PALMDALE - Residents of the Antelope Valley will have an opportunity to learn about safety and rescue work during the third annual Public Safety Expo and Open House.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the main entrance to the Antelope Valley Mall The Antelope Valley Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Palmdale, California.

Opened in September, 1990, its buildings take up around 1 million square feet (90,000 m²). Its physical main building, parking lots, and ring road businesses encompass an area a bit less than 0.

The Antelope Valley Search and Rescue team will demonstrate rappelling off the outer wall of the Harris/Gottschalks store. Spectators can also get their photo taken on a motorcycle, specialized 4x4 pickup or Camaro.

Desert Winds High School graduates Aurene Carey, Jimmy Hernandez, Megan Hix and Vince Schembri will receive $500 scholarships to help further their education.
