Byline: Daily News

LANCASTER -- Antelope Valley This article is about the Los Angeles County region. For the census-designated place in Wyoming, see Antelope Valley-Crestview, Wyoming.

The Antelope Valley
Hospital announced that it has been recognized with the top rating for clinical excellence in maternity care from a firm that assesses hospitals, nursing homes and physicians.

The hospital's five-star rating from Colorado-based HealthGrades put it in the top 15 percent of hospitals in 17 states and marks the fifth year the hospital has been rated five stars in maternity care.

In addition, Antelope Valley Hospital has ranked in the top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for maternity care for three years consecutively, and has been recognized with the HealthGrades 2006/2007 Maternity Care Excellence Award.

``We have made maternity care a major priority at Antelope Valley Hospital and this can be seen with the expansion and opening of our new Women and Infants Pavilion later this summer,'' said Les Wong, hospital chief executive officer. ``Considering that we deliver more than 5,000 babies annually, we are proud that our staff and our physicians have consistently maintained the quality that it takes to receive such a prestigious award. It is acknowledgment acknowledgment, in law, formal declaration or admission by a person who executed an instrument (e.g., a will or a deed) that the instrument is his. The complete maternity care ratings are published, free of charge, on the HealthGrades Web site, www.healthgrades.com.

Ratings for 28 other medical procedures and diagnoses -- including cardiac, pulmonary, vascular, stroke, orthopedics, critical care and gastrointestinal services are also available on the HealthGrades Web site.
