A.V. HOSPITAL ANNOUNCES HIRING OF CFO.

The Antelope Valley
 Hospital has hired Bradley J. Mucek as its chief financial officer.

Mucek comes from MacNeal Health Network in Chicago where he was the vice president and CFO See Chief Financial Officer. . He has more than 20 years' experience in administration, operation, and finance in health care, managed care and industry.

 Chief Executive Officer Les Wong. "He'll work closely with our board of directors, our (chief operation officer), and me to ensure financial excellence at our hospital."

Added Wong, "With this appointment, we have all the pieces in place to allow for the strategic short- and long-term fiscal planning needed to guide our organization to stability and growth."

Mucek says his enthusiasm for AVH stems in part from its distinct market position.

"There are very few health care organizations in the U.S. today where demand outstrips supply," he noted. "AVH is in a unique situation, and I know I can help the hospital become not only the premier provider, but the provider of choice in a market where competition will be growing."

Mucek's primary goals will be to make sure the services provided by AVH are cost-effective.

He will also be working with the administrative team and staff to streamline the budgeting and financial processes.

At MacNeal Health Network, he led facility development projects, including expanding radiology radiology, branch of medicine specializing in the use of X rays, gamma rays, radioactive isotopes, and other forms of radiation in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.  services, constructing an occupational medicine clinic, and expanding a gastro-intestinal treatment center.

One of his first responsibilities at AVH will be overseeing the financial operations of the new Women and Infants Pavilion.
