A.V. COLLEGE SET FOR OPEN HOUSE.Byline: Greg Botonis Daily News Staff Writer Antelope Valley College will host its third annual open house to let the community and potential students view its facilities, examine various programs and meet faculty. Guided tours will be offered throughout the day, which will include performances by a flute choir, the Test Flight rock band and the AV Jazz Improvisation; a fashion show hosted by design students; and computer graphics and Internet demonstrations. ``Coming to a new school might be intimidating for some, so this will give people a chance to meet the faculty and support staff and just get comfortable with the school,'' said Public Relations Director Steve Standerfer. The open house will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the college, 3041 W. Ave. K. The event will kick off with a free pancake and sausage breakfast from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the cafeteria. Visitors can view informational material about the school and meet with counselors to discuss educational goals. ``We feel we've got some really good programs here,'' Standerfer said. ``This is just a great way to showcase the college.'' Visitors can take a guided tour or just stroll around the campus and facilities. ``People can stay all day or leave whenever they want,'' Standerfer said. ``We just offer all the things we think might be of interest and benefit to a student's potential goals and the chance to meet our great staff.''
