A.O. Smith Helps Family in Need of a New Start.

And Takes Part In A National Hit Home Makeover Show

ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. -- A.O. Smith recently partnered with a national hit TV show to help a family in need. Millions watched as the crew of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" screamed "Move That Bus" for the Koepke family of Dundee, Wis. The Nov. 19 episode featured a family who recently lost their father to cancer.

Each episode, the producers of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" select a deserving family and build them an entirely new house in one week or less. The EMHE EMHE Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (TV show)  crew built the Koepkes their dream home, and A.O. Smith was able to be a part of the experience by donating the new Vertex, a high-efficiency, gas water heater.

"When we received details of the products being installed in the home that would use hot water we made the decision to donate the new high-efficiency Vertex because of its ability to offer continuous hot water," said David Chisolm, brand manager, A.O. Smith Water Products Company.

The new home received several Kenmore appliances A brand name of household appliances produced mainly by Whirlpool (and various other manufacturers, such as Panasonic for vacuum cleaners, Electrolux and Mabe Mexico for white goods) and sold by Sears Holdings Corporation in the USA.  for the kitchen and the bathrooms were equipped with high-end body spray Body spray is a perfume product which is lighter in strength than cologne, generally less expensive, and doubles as a deodorant.[1] Some well known body spray brands include Unilever's "Axe", Gillette's "Tag", Dial's "RGX", Procter & Gamble's "Old Spice Body Spray", and A.  systems by Kohler.

"When multiple high-use items are installed in a home, particularly body spray systems or garden tubs, we suggest installing a water heater that will provide hot water in the rare event all appliances will be used at the same time." said Chisolm. "The Koepke family has been through so much, and we are proud to be a part of giving them a nice place to call home."

. Koepke was well known throughout Dundee for his commitment to the community, and his achievements can be seen in every corner of the town. He helped lead the restoration of the historic Dundee Mill into a museum for his community and helped build both the Sportsman's Lodge and local baseball diamond.

In April, Matt was diagnosed with a metastic melanoma. By the time of diagnosis, the cancer had already spread from under his left arm to his brain. Suddenly, it became clear that his dream of a safe home for his family might only be that - a dream.

He immediately went to work around the house, trying to make the home safe for his family, while battling the overwhelming fatigue that accompanied his chemotherapy treatments. Matt Koepke passed away on August 21, 2006, at the age of 41, leaving behind his wife, Christine, and his four children: Derek, 22; Jayna, 20; Mitchell, 17; and Johanna, 15.

The family had always focused on taking care of their community and not their home which had fallen into disrepair. The home, which was built by Matt's great-grandfather, had exposed electrical wires and insulation, a leaking roof, broken windows and an attic infested in·fest
