A.M. Best Upgrades Rating of Tower Insurance Company of New York.


OLDWICK, N.J. -- A.M. Best Co. has upgraded the financial strength rating to A- (Excellent) from B++ (Very Good) of Tower Insurance Company of New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 (TICNY TICNY Tower Insurance Company of New York ) (New York, NY). The rating outlook is stable.

This rating action takes into consideration TICNY's publicly-traded parent, Tower Group, Inc.'s (Tower) (NASDAQ NASDAQ

The rating upgrade also considers management's intention to prudently capitalize TICNY at levels previously discussed with A.M. Best.
