A.M. Best believes that the UK life market continued its recovery during the last 12 months, as reflected in the overall results of the rated companies. New business premium has returned to stable single digit growth with several of the largest insurers growing faster than the market average. Annuities remain a key battle-ground, with a relatively small number of large insurers competing for the most profitable business.
