A.M. Best Places Ratings of DuraRock Reinsurance, Ltd. Under Review with Negative Implications.

OLDWICK, N.J. -- A.M. Best Co. has placed the financial strength rating of A (Excellent) and issuer credit rating of "a" of DuraRock Reinsurance, Ltd. (DuraRock) (Barbados) under review with negative implications.

The rating actions reflect the deterioration in DuraRock's risk-adjusted capitalization, primarily due to the decline in market value of one large equity investment. DuraRock is assessing options to restore its capital position over the near term. The ratings will remain under review pending A.M. Best's evaluation of DuraRock's capital solution to determine if risk-adjusted capitalization can be restored to levels commensurate with its current ratings.
