A.M. Best Places "A" -Excellent- Rating of American Memorial Under Review.OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 17, 1998--A.M. Best Co. today placed the "A" (Excellent) rating of American American, river, 30 mi (48 km) long, rising in N central Calif. in the Sierra Nevada and flowing SW into the Sacramento River at Sacramento. The discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill (see Sutter, John Augustus) along the river in 1848 led to the California gold rush of Memorial Life Insurance Co., the funeral services funeral service n → misa de cuerpo presente funeral service n → service m funèbre funeral service funeral n division of American Annuity annuity: see insurance. annuity Payment made at a fixed interval. A common example is the payment received by retirees from their pension plan. There are two main classes of annuities: annuities certain and contingent annuities. Group, Inc., under review with developing implications. The action follows American Annuity Group's announcement that it has agreed to sell American Memorial Life to Service Corporation International (SCI (Scalable Coherent Interface) An IEEE standard for a high-speed bus that uses wire or fiber-optic cable. It can transfer data up to 1GBytes/sec. (hardware) SCI - 1. Scalable Coherent Interface. 2. UART. ) for $164 million in cash. SCI is a global provider of funeral services, as well as the country's largest manager of funeral homes. American Memorial Life, the lead life insurance company of American Annuity's pre-need group, has a niche position in the funeral marketplace. In recent years, SCI has provided over half the premiums written by the pre-need division. The acquisition of its insurance and trust administration supplier represents a vertical integration for SCI. A.M. Best views positively the opportunities for synergies and growth in the funeral funding market under SCI ownership. However, the rating agency will review the implications this ownership change could have on American Memorial Life and the other members of the group, as well as the financing terms and debt-servicing requirements that may arise in from the transaction. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 1998, subject to regulatory approval. In addition to Rapid City, S.D.-based American Memorial Life, the rating action affects Rushmore National Life Insurance Co., Rapid City, "FPR FPR Ford Performance Racing FPR Front Patriotique Rwandais (Rwanda Patriotic Front) FPR Floating-Point Register (CPU architecture) FPR Fuel Pressure Regulator (automotive) 7" (Strong); Great Western Life Insurance Co., Bozeman, Mont., "NR-3" (Rating Procedure Inapplicable in·ap·pli·ca·ble adj.
