A.M. Best Affirms Rating of CIGNA Life Insurance Company Europe S.A.-N.V.

OLDWICK, N.J. -- A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating of B++ (Very Good) of CIGNA CIGNA CG (Connecticut General Life Insurance Company) INA (Insurance Company of North America)  Life Insurance Company Europe S.A.-N.V. (CLICE) (Belgium). The outlook remains stable.

The rating reflects the company's specialised business position, stable capitalisation and return to financial profitability.

The main drivers of growth are expected to be the demand for expatriate benefits and the above market average growth for life accident and health business, where the company benefits from the impact of recent distribution agreements.

Stable capitalisation-- CLICE's excellent risk-adjusted capitalisation will likely remain stable over the next two years. The pressures from the strong business growth forecasted are expected to be alleviated through reinsurance The contract made between an insurance company and a third party to protect the insurance company from losses.
