A.H. Belo announces corporate promotions.DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 1994--A.H. Belo Corporation announced the election of two new corporate officers, effective Jan. 1, 1995. Dunia A. Prior to joining Belo in 1993 as corporate controller, Shive spent four years as assistant controller for Tyler Corporation, a publicly-held company headquartered in Dallas. From 1982 to 1989, Shive was audit manager for Ernst & Young, where she worked with several publicly-held companies, including Belo. Shive, a native of Killeen, is a certified public accountant Certified Public Accountant (CPA) An accountant who has met certain standards, including experience, age, and licensing, and passed exams in a particular state. and holds an undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University. She is a member of the International Newspaper Financial Executives and the Broadcast Cable Financial Management Association. Spitzberg joined Belo in 1992 as assistant general counsel. From 1985 to 1992, she worked at the Dallas-based law firm Haynes and Boone Haynes and Boone, LLP is one of the largest and fastest-growing law firms in the United States. It has grown from a handful of lawyers in 1970 to more than 450 lawyers in 2007. The firm is based in Dallas, Texas, and as of 2007 has more than 25 legal practice areas. as an associate in the corporate finance section. Spitzberg holds a Juris Doctor from the Southern Methodist University Southern Methodist University, at Dallas, Tex.; United Methodist; coeducational; chartered 1911. The school's facilities include laboratories for electron microscopy and stable isotopes, a museum of paleontology, and a graduate research center.
