Decherd said: "Second quarter performance will be affected by acquisition and transition expenses associated with KIRO-TV in Seattle; start-up costs for Maxam Entertainment; and an anticipated slowdown in the rate of broadcast revenue growth in June. However, up-front demand for fall network advertising schedules is strong. This demand could spill over into the national spot markets and benefit local television stations, particularly in larger markets. If this happens, Belo's fourth quarter could be significantly better than the current outlook."
