A. Schulman adds three directors, increasing board to 14 members.


AKRON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 12, 1995--A. Schulman Inc. said today that it is adding three new members to its board of directors, increasing the board's size to 14 directors.

Named to the board are Willard R. Holland, president and chief executive officer of Ohio Edison Company, Akron; James A. Karman, president and a director of RPM, Inc., Medina, Ohio Medina [məˈdaɪnə] is a city in Medina County, Ohio, United States. The population was 25,139 at the 2000 census. The 2004 projected population was estimated at 28,536. ; and James S. Marlen, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ameron, Inc., a Pasadena, California-based multi-national manufacturer of highly engineered products for building, construction and industrial markets.

A. Schulman said the increase in board membership and the broad experience of these new members will provide additional strength and expertise for the Company's expanding worldwide business operations.

The appointments to the board will become effective October 20, the Company said.

Based in Akron, A. Schulman is an international supplier of high-performance plastic compounds and resins.

He began his career with GenCorp in 1965 and held marketing, management and vice presidential positions in domestic and international operations before becoming president of the Fabricated Plastics group in 1985 and then president of GenCorp Polymer Products and a vice president of the corporation in 1988.

Marlen became president and CEO of Ameron, Inc. in 1993 and chairman of the board in 1995.

He and his wife, Carolyn, reside in Pasadena, California and are parents of three sons.
