Jane Fitzpatrick Kilroy, M.D.- known to several generations of children and their parents as "Dr. Jane" - died peacefully at the Knollwood Nursing Center on Sunday, May 3, 2009. Dr. Fitzpatrick - the child of Sarah and Michael Fitzpatrick of Southbridge, Mass. - received her B.S. from Jackson College in 1938 and her M.D. from Tufts University Medical School in 1942. She interned at Hahnemann Hospital in Worcester, Mass. and completed her residency at the Metropolitan Hospital in New York City New York City: see New York, city. A strong supporter of her local community, Dr. Fitzpatrick received keys to the City of Worcester twice. Her first-born child - Nancy Jane - died in 1949. She was also predeceased by her husband, Edward F. Kilroy, MD, who she married in 1946; her brother Royce Fitzpatrick, and her sister Carolyn Millin. She is survived by her children John Kilroy of North Chatham, Mass.; Virginia and husband Ronnie Koenig of Ramsey, N.J.; Sally and husband Richard Talbot of Worcester, Mass.; David Kilroy and wife Melodee Wagen of Lexington, Mass.; and her adored grandchildren Molly and Jesse Kilroy; Joshua Koenig; Meghan and Christopher Talbot; and Toby and Nathan Kilroy. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Friday, May 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Caswell-King, 474 Grove Street, Worcester (508) 852-7171; internment at Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster St., Worcester on Saturday, May 9, at 11 o'clock a.m.; funeral at All Saints Church, 10 Irving Street, Worcester on Saturday, May 9 at 3 o'clock p.m. with reception to follow at the church.
