Salzberger has been named senior vice president/administration for the Company's Broadcast Division, and Richard J. Keilty has been named vice president and general manager of WVEC-TV in Hampton-Norfolk, Virginia. Belo also announced that H. Martin Haag, Jr., has been promoted to senior vice president/news for the Broadcast Division. Lee Salzberger is currently president and general manager of WVEC WVEC Willamette Valley Eye Center . During his 30-year career with Belo, he has held key management positions in four of Belo's seven television stations, as well as at the Broadcast Division level. Ward L. Huey, Jr., Belo's vice chairman and president of the Broadcast Division said: "Lee's rich experience with Belo makes him ideally suited for his new administrative responsibility. He is an extraordinarily talented broadcast executive." Salzberger's first job with Belo was at WFAA-TV in Dallas-Fort Worth, where he served as news reporter, photographer, producer, city editor and acting news director. Subsequently, Salzberger moved to the stations sales department as an account executive and, later, moved to Belo's KFDM-TV in Beaumont-Port Arthur as general sales manager. At the Broadcast Division level, he has served as vice president/personnel and training; vice president/programming and research; and vice president/ administration. Salzberger became president and general manager of KOTV in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1987 and president and general manager of WVEC in 1991. Salzberger holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and a masters degree in arts from the University of Texas. Rick Keilty, who is currently the vice president and general sales manager of Belo's KHOU-TV in Houston, has more than 22 years of television sales and management experience. He has been with KHOU for seven years and, before he assumed his current duties, was the director of sales and marketing for the station. Keilty served as general sales manager at WVEC from 1983 to 1988.
