A-Ward intros container tilting unit.


A-Ward Attachments Ltd. of New Zealand New Zealand (zē`lənd), island country (2005 est. pop. 4,035,000), 104,454 sq mi (270,534 sq km), in the S Pacific Ocean, over 1,000 mi (1,600 km) SE of Australia. The capital is Wellington; the largest city and leading port is Auckland.  has developed the ACT series of self-contained container-tilting units with back-in, drive-out capability.

A-Ward Attachments Director and Chief Engineer Simon Ward designed the unit after listening to several customers complain about their current container loading systems' lack of safety and efficiency, according to according to

To use the ACT self-contained container tilting units, the container and trailer chassis are backed into the unit. The container then is locked onto the tilter's lifting arms at eight points. The doors are opened, and the tilter hydraulically raises the container from zero to 90 degrees for loading with a material handler, conveyor or wheel loader.
