A-American Self Storage Chairman Edmund C. Olson Contributes $100,000 to Hurricane Relief Efforts During Self Storage Hall of Fame Ceremonies.

LAS VEGAS -- Carlyn Paterson, Senior Vice President of A-American Self Storage, confirmed today that the Company's Chairman Edmund C. Olson, and President Craig D. Olson, will donate $50,000 to the American Red Cross and $50,000 to the Salvation Army to support relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Edmund Olson made the announcement today during the Self Storage Hall of Fame ceremonies at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, NV. Los Angeles, Ca-based A-American Self Storage has been an active participant in the Self Storage Association for more than 30 years and Mr. Olson is one of seven individuals to be inducted in the Self Storage Hall of Fame today.

"The immense catastrophe that has transpired in the Gulf states has affected so many that it will take the support of Americans throughout the country to help in this unprecedented recovery process," said Olson. "It is my hope that this contribution will set an example that will be followed by many other business leaders. In particular, I encourage the self storage professionals gathered in Las Vegas this week to stop by the Red Cross booth and show support for your fellow American citizens who have been affected by these terrible events," he said.

The non-profit Self Storage Association (SSA) announced last week that it is initiating a four-step program to support relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina. 1- The SSA, which is made up of more than 2,700 member companies worldwide, will donate $5,000 to the American Red Cross. 2- The SSA will also donate $25 for every sale of its Emergency Preparedness Manual to the American Red Cross between now and September 10. 3- The SSA has entered into a third-party agreement with the American Red Cross to facilitate the relief efforts and will encourage those planning to attend SSA's Fall Conference & Trade Show in Las Vegas, NV (next week), to stop by the Red Cross booth to make a donation. Red Cross representatives will be on-hand to process donations from self storage owner-operators. 4- Additionally, SSA Chairman Charles S. Broomfield has declared the month of December, 2005 as Self Storage Disaster Relief Month, and will encourage SSA members to dedicate one month's administrative fees to the aid efforts. Administrative fees are often collected at point of rental at self storage facilities.
