The Golden Sound Award is reserved for only one manufacturer whose technology, design, performance and sales meet or exceed the strict standards of Japan's annual Excellent Audio Product Awards competition. JBL's selection as the grand prize winner marks the first time in the award's 14-year history that an audio product originating outside Japan has been chosen to receive the top honor. The JBL S2600 also represents the first speaker system to have been chosen for this distinguished award.
