It will be all Mozart, all the time at the Oregon Mozart Players' "Mozart Inspiration" concerts on May 11 and 12.

The performances will be at 8 p.m. Saturday in the Hult Center's Soreng Theatre, and at 2:30 p.m. May 12 in Beall Concert Hall at the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  School of Music. Tickets are $11 to $35 at the Hult Center box office (682-5000).

Conducted by Andrew Massey, the chamber orchestra will dig into some of Wolfgang Mozart's loveliest works in what amounts to a Mother's Day tribute concert and a salute to spring.

The program opens with Mozart's Overture to "Don Giovanni," then moves to "Ruhe Sanft," the signature aria from his early opera "Zaide Zaide is an unfinished opera, K. 344, written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1780. Emperor Joseph II, in 1778, was in the process of setting up an opera company for the purpose of performing German opera. ." The first half of the concert will conclude with Symphony No. 29, the first of what are generally considered Mozart's great symphonies.

The concert will continue with Six German Dances, which Mozart wrote later in life. The program then moves to the terzetto from the opera "Cosi fan tutte," followed by the adagio a·da·gio

Opera and song literature yield numerous examples of the serenade sung or played by a lover at night beneath his beloved's window; outstanding is  in E flat. The concert will end with the cantata cantata (kəntä`tə) [Ital.,=sung], composite musical form similar to a short unacted opera or brief oratorio, developed in Italy in the baroque period.  "Exultate," one of Mozart's most popular compositions.

The featured soloist will be soprano Laurel James, a regional finalist of the Metropolitan Opera Auditions and a top-20 finisher (out of 800 contestants) in the McAlister Awards.

A resident of Centerville, Utah, James has performed frequently with Utah Opera and has been a recitalist for the Temple Square Concert Series, the Festival of the Madelaine Concert Series and the St. James Benefit Concert Series in Utah.

James also has performed with the Eugene Concert Choir Eugene Concert Choir is a non-profit choral organization based in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It consists of two mixed-voice choruses: the 100-member Eugene Concert Choir (ECC), and the semi-professional chamber group Eugene Vocal Arts Ensemble (EVAE).  and Eugene Ballet.
