A true depiction.

AASA President-elect Mark Bielang's Systems Thinking column ("From a Rough Cut to a Polished Gem") in the December issue was a true reflection of the evolution of the district that he now leads.

I have observed the transformation of Bielang's district in Paw Paw, Mich., first as an assistant superintendent in a neighboring district and then as a superintendent in another district in the area for the past 15 years. What he describes in his column is true and factual to the point.

Through his leadership, the Paw Paw district, once home to aging facilities and community criticism, is now a smooth-running organization with modern facilities and strong community support.

Bielang will serve AASA well in his leadership role with our organization during the next year.
