A treat for music connoisseurs this October.

MUSCAT Eoe1/4" The Al Azm Performing Arts Festival, that is scheduled to kick off on October 8 with a performance by Tahira Syed at the Oman Auditorium of Al Bustan Palace Hotel promises to be a real treat for music lovers.

Tahira the youngest of five siblings, is the daughter of late Begum Mallika.

The next up is Bahok on October 23.

Bahok was originally a collaboration with the National Ballet of China, the first of its kind between a UK contemporary dance company and a state-funded national company in China.

Tina Sani who performs on October 29, began her musical journey in 1979. She underwent formal training in Indian classical music under Ustad Nizamudin Khan Shahib son of Ustad Ramzan Khan Shahib of Dehli gharana and later on with Ustad Chand Amrohvi. Chicago directed by Nida Butt is to be staged on November 3

Made for Stage Productions is an innovative theatre company committed to producing unique shows for audiences of all ages. As CEO, Nida Butt is a serious dance enthusiast, the focus of Made for Stage productions has remained musicals in order to incorporate the dance element.

India: Then, Now & Forever on November 12 brings the curtains down on the festival. Conceptualised and choreographed by Dr Mallika Sarabhai.

The show takes the audience from the temples of southern India to the forests of the Dangs and the minds of todayEoe1/4aos creators.

Mallika Sarabhai, artiste and activist educated as an economist and a business manager, Mallika Sarabhai is one of IndiaEoe1/4aos best-known Bharata Natyam and Kuchipudi dancers.

Surely, Al Azm Performing Arts Festival is not to be missed.
