 UniSpeed 5 traveling column machining center is designed for precision applications in the aerospace, petroleum, mold-making, subcontracting, and other fields. It has a work envelope of 63"x63"x47"-X, Y, Z and five-sided Adj. 1. five-sided - having five sides

 machining and turning capabilities. The machine features the SHW universal spindle spindle: see spinning.


A rotating shaft in a disk drive. In a fixed disk, the platters are attached to the spindle. In a removable disk, the spindle remains in the drive. Laptops use spindle designations to indicate the number of built-in drives.
 head, with 64,800 programmable spindle orientations. It features a milling spindle with 35 hp drive, spindle speeds up to 6,000 rpm or, if equipped with a high frequency spindle, up to 30,000 rpm. The traverse traverse - traversal  rate is 98 fpm with 2g acceleration. The X-axis travel of the machine column is 78". The turning table diameter is 63" with a table load capacity up to 13,200 lb.
