A town is born.


When Schroeder-Manatee Ranch ranch, large farm devoted chiefly to raising and breeding cattle, horses, sheep, and goats. The cattle ranch was introduced from Latin America to Texas and the plains of the W United States and Canada.  began developing the 30,000 acres that make up Lakewood Ranch Lakewood Ranch is a master-planned community that has been developed since 1994 on the border of Manatee and Sarasota counties in Florida[1]. The development is to the East of I-75 and sits mainly between University Parkway to the South and State Road 64 to the North. , the vision was of a place where residents would live, play and work.
