Allegra Kent Allegra Kent (August 11, 1937), an American ballet dancer.

Born in Santa Monica, Kent studied with Bronislava Nijinska and Carmelita Maracci before joining SAB. After graduating, she joined NYCB in 1953 at the age of 17, and was promoted to principal in 1957.
 writes that her 3 1/2-year-old granddaughter was thrown out of a preballet class for not minding the teacher ("Advice for Dancers," September). While it is difficult to judge a situation without having been there, it's rare for a teacher to be mean for the sake of being mean. There is a disturbing trend among parents to assume that the teacher is always wrong. Teaching often is not just a job, but a calling--our students are almost like our own children! Please parents, give the teacher the benefit of the doubt.

Donna Ross Ross , Sir Ronald 1857-1932.

British physician. He won a 1902 Nobel Prize for proving that malaria is transmitted to humans by the bite of the mosquito.
