A studio CD finally in hand, Grynch is ready to celebrate.Byline: Serena Markstrom The Register-Guard Members of Grynch might have been disappointed to miss their April 20 goal for releasing a sophomore CD, but they are ready now. The CD release party for "Two Minutes Before ... Two Minutes After," the group's first studio album, is tonight at the WOW (1) (World Organization of Webmasters, Folsom, CA, www.joinwow.org) A membership organization for professionals who are involved with creating and maintaining Web sites. WOW also provides certification via testing centers throughout the U.S. Hall. Although a month after the target date, which was the five-year anniversary of the band's first show in 2002, the guys will make it up to guests by bribing them with raffle prizes from event sponsors. The title of the release, financed by Rommi Records and recorded in Eugene at Central Node Productions, pays homage homage: see feudalism. to the five members' ritual of getting together for two minutes before and after each show to "get into each other's heads." But the band is well on its way to taking over a slice of alternative metal heaven in this fair town, having played successful shows at the WOW Hall and McDonald Theatre. Now that they have a record deal, the members of Grynch spend less time worrying about money and more time concentrating on the music. Guitar player Darrell Jolliff has said the stepped-up effort led to this better crop of songs. Matthew Feltes worked with band members in the studio to coproduce the album, six months in the making. "The depth of the new album has pulled itself from the very flesh, heart and soul of each band member," Feltes says in a news release. "I cried like a baby when I listened to the final version of the song titled 'Truth.'
