A splash of colour in the White Room; Art.Byline: JULIE CHAMBERLAIN THE White Room Gallery in Leamington is celebrating its fourth anniversary with an exhibition of works by an artist born in the town. Adjective 1. with bright or richly varied colours 2. vivid or distinctive in character Adj. 1. abstract paintings. The 19 works on show in Leamington date from the 1960s until 2000. The later works include four around the title Development of a Square. Frost said his works were purely abstract, but in the curving shapes of some the eye tends to see body shapes. In others, such as Newlyn Blue Q and Tolcarne Moon Blue, Newlyn, it's easy to see rows of boats and flags in the bright abstract shapes. It's an enjoyable show from a gallery that has shown it is dedicated to interesting, quality exhibitions. However, the most fascinating work is on a sheet of A4 paper. Gallery owners John and Heather Gilks run HM Graphics below the gallery and know Frost's niece NIECE, domestic relations: The daughter of a person's brother or sister. Amb. 514; 1 Jacob's Ch. R. 207. Jane. They asked her if she could get him to sign some paper for them before his death in 2003. Instead he drew and signed a picture of a tree on some of their headed note paper, which is now proudly framed and on display in the gallery. Not surprisingly, it's the only work not for sale.
