, a media assistant at Goshen Elementary School elementary school: see school.  in Gaithersburg, Md., introduced herself to the kindergarten kindergarten [Ger.,=garden of children], system of preschool education. Friedrich Froebel designed (1837) the kindergarten to provide an educational situation less formal than that of the elementary school but one in which children's creative play instincts would be  pupils and offered them a memory aid to remember her name. "Think of your favorite Campbell soup when you see me," she told them.

The second time she visited the youngsters for indoor recess, a boy in kindergarten raised his hand and asked, "Are you Mrs. Noodle?"
