A shameful situation.

 its research, the number of people who are unintentionally homeless or in great need of housing, has gone up by 187 per cent.

Certainly, the increase is in part due to the change in legislation made by the assembly last year which extended its criteria over what constitutes homelessness.

But the fact remains that, despite new hostels and excellent services both in the public and voluntary sectors playing their part, people are still living rough on our city streets.

It's a shameful situation in any society but when it's happening in the richest corner of Wales Wales, Welsh Cymru, western peninsula and political division (principality) of Great Britain (1991 pop. 2,798,200), 8,016 sq mi (20,761 sq km), west of England; politically united with England since 1536.
