A second look at Klayman.

Larry Klayman Larry Klayman is the founder and chief representative of the Klayman Law Firm, which is based out of Miami, Florida and Washington D.C., although he is known chiefly as the founder and former Chairman of Judicial Watch, a public interest and non-profit law firm, which attained , formerly with the Judicial Watch organization, is now a candidate for the U.S. Senate here in Florida. A recent release issued by the "Klayman for U.S. Senate" committee shows unmistakably that he is no true friend of U.S. sovereignty. It promises that, if elected, Mr. Klayman will "work non-stop to have Miami selected as the headquarters of the Secretariat of the Free Trade Area of the Americas The Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) (Spanish: Área de Libre Comercio de las Américas (ALCA), French: Zone de libre-échange des Amériques (ZLÉA), Portuguese: Área de Livre Comércio das Américas ."

The release then professes his support for NAFTA NAFTA

Trade pact signed by Canada, the U.S., and Mexico in 1992, which took effect in 1994. Inspired by the success of the European Community in reducing trade barriers among its members, NAFTA created the world's
and other free-trade pacts that he claims "help the U.S. economy and protect and promote American jobs." Finally, this same vote-for-Klayman document assures readers that he will "protect the recently passed Trade Promotion Authority vested in the President." I agree with THE NEW AMERICAN that the FTAA FTAA Free Trade Area of the Americas

, NAFTA and several other trade pacts have accelerated the flight of jobs, opened wider our borders for illegal immigrants, and diluted America's sovereignty.

I first became aware of Larry Klayman and his Washington-based Judicial Watch through reading about him and his work in THE NEW AMERICAN. I learned that he filed numerous lawsuits dealing with the many unconstitutional activities and coverups that marked the Clinton administration. I was impressed and really thought this man's work would amount to something. But I don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

of any success he had with all of his legal challenges. To my knowledge, Mr. Clinton certainly hasn't been affected by these efforts.

Over the years, Mr. Klayman has spent a great deal of effort raising funds for his work. His steady stream of mailings made great promises about cutting the rug out from under our recently retired rogue president. I now think that raising funds was all that Mr. Klayman ever accomplished.

In short, the Larry Klayman I once admired has turned out to be another dangerous internationalist who will not get any vote from me. I thought your readers also might want to know that Larry Klayman is not the staunch defender of our nation that he once seemed to be.

In general, before supporting political candidates, especially those for federal office, maybe we should question their stance on some of the important issues.
