A run-in with mother nature.


As secretary to Superintendent Vincent J. But Wlodarczyk averted a true weather disaster recently on her own property. "He came back inside and said he was glad he did it because the tree would have snapped in half if he hadn't," Wlodarczyk told The Buffalo News.

A few minutes later, the couple heard a loud cracking noise. A huge branch from a neighbor's 30-foot maple had crashed onto the rose of Sharon, splitting it in half.

Timing is everything, Wlodarczyk concluded.
