(he's calling it The First 50 Years) will be on view all this month at the Gallery at Manatee Community College Manatee Community College (MCC), with the main campus based in Bradenton, Florida, is a two-year community college accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate in Arts, Associate in Applied Science and Associate in . Pappas was chair of the art department of the University of South Florida • • [ in Tampa before retiring in 1993 and settling in Sarasota to paint full-time. The show will include about 20 works, arranged according to decades. They are, Pappas says, "things he has liked and kept." While working on his master's at Harvard, Pappas decided to take a course at MIT MIT - Massachusetts Institute of Technology with painter Gyorgy Kepes, whose two- and three-hour critiques of his work encouraged Pappas to become a painter.
