A reprieve for procrastinators: Tax filing deadline a little later.

Procrastinators rejoice. This year, the Internal Revenue Service has extended to Monday, April 17, the usual April 15 deadline for mailing tax returns.

Springfield city officials are anticipating heavy traffic around the Gateway post office on Monday because of last-minute filers and have set up a traffic control plan.

 traffic will be allowed to turn into the post office from Gateway Street. Cars will form two lanes to enter the post office parking lot at 3148 Gateway Loop and will exit into the Gateway Mall Gateway Mall may refer to:
