 computer unit (ACU ACU

) for repairs, mechanics, write down the offset data. It only takes a couple of minutes and it'll save you a whole bunch of minutes later.

The offset data is needed to synchronize the ACU with the gun. Without the data, you'll have to do a complete fire control alignment test--a 3- to 4-hour project--after a new ACU is installed.

Retrieve the offset data by going into maintenance mode and checking the bore-sight entry. There you'll find the roll offset, elevation offset and azimuth azimuth (ăz`əməth), in astronomy, one coordinate in the altazimuth coordinate system. It is the angular distance of a body measured westward along the celestial horizon from the observer's south point.  offset figures.

Use a grease pencil to write the figures down on the back of the display unit. That way, the numbers will be handy for entering into the new ACU.

The offset data should also be entered in the AEPS AEPS Arctic Environmental Protection Strategy (8 nations including Canada & USA)
AEPS Aviation Employee Placement Service
AEPS Army Electronic Product Support (web-based logistics information and applications)
electronic DA Form 2408-4 gun card system as a non-firing MIS REMARKS entry. That way, if the data on the back of the display unit gets erased or smeared, you still have the info handy.
