A place for social change.After more than 50 years on West 47th Street, the New Dance Group has moved nine blocks south to West 38th Street, doubling its space (right). The studio was formed 75 years ago by Miriam Blecher, Nadia Chilkovsky, and a handful of others--all modern dancers who were imbued with the passion for social justice that was typical of the 1930s. Their motto: "The dance is a weapon in the class struggle."
