A packing case of faucets.

A packing case of faucets
ready to be put to the test.
Unleashed waters into a hundred
sinks, tubs, pig-troughs, from
aqueducts, from copper basins,
over slate, sluices, barrel
vaults, alleys of pipes and
rivulets, onto the heads of
birds and the dry breasts of
those ladies who pine for milk
under umbrellas in the noonday sun.
And so I lifted that packing case
and took it away.
                 And so I would
have taken you from that square
place where you intend to be and
fasten you to my back and let you
race your life through me and take
me to oceans where--but no,
the text blurs even as I thought
of it and so with my packing case
of faucets I go raving there and here
to find the pool to cast them in.
