 exchange experience to a member of each association. This program allows a member of NEHA to practice environmental health in England for four weeks and vice versa VICE VERSA. On the contrary; on opposite sides. . Complete funding support for the sabbatical has again been committed by the National Sanitation Foundation International - one of the nation's leading advocates of environmental health.

This incredible opportunity is open to the entire NEHA membership. The selection process is now beginning for the next sabbatical, which must be taken sometime between August 1, 2000 and June 1, 2001. All NEHA members are invited to consider this unique and enriching experience.

To be considered for the exchange program, complete the application below and include it along with appropriate responses to the eight points that define the application packet. Five copies of the application packet must be received at NEHA headquarters by March 1, 2000.

Applications will be reviewed by a screening committee composed of representatives from NEHA and National Sanitation Foundation International. Announcement of the recipient will be made at the next AEC AEC US Atomic Energy Commission

To be complete, your application packet must include:

1. A letter from the applicant's employer that clearly indicates that the applicant enjoys the employer's support for this four-week sabbatical experience. No candidate will be considered without this commitment from the employer. It is important to the program that the individual selected have the opportunity to return to his or her position and apply the new knowledge, insights and experience gained as a result of the sabbatical in England.

2. Assurance that the sabbatical will be taken sometime between August 1, 2000 and June 1, 2001. This ensures that the program can move on a yearly basis and that another fortunate NEHA member will be able to participate the following year.

3. If selected, assurance that the applicant will attend the NEHA AEC in Denver, Colorado to personally accept the sabbatical award. 4. Assurance, in the form of a statement from the applicant, that commits him or her to a personal interview if selected as a finalist. The interview would likely take place in either Denver, Colorado or Ann Arbor, Michigan

5. Assurance, in the form of a commitment, that the applicant will prepare and submit to NEHA a report on the experience within three months of the sabbatical.

6. If selected, assurance that the ambassador will serve as a resource for the CIEH exchange ambassador in planning his or her sabbatical to the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. .

7. A complete curriculum vitae curriculum vitae CV, resume Medical practice A formal listing of a person's professional education, objectives, work history, including location and dates of service at a particular hospital, health care facility, university, the role filled at the time of service, .

8. An essay of not less than 2,000 words, which must address the specific subject area of interest to the applicant and present any special qualifications the applicant would like to point out to the review committee. This essay should offer a discussion on the particular aspects of the subject area the applicant is interested in, why, and what the applicant hopes to learn through the sabbatical. It also can include any other considerations the applicant feels the review committee should know about.

9. Other materials such as support letters, references, etc. In short - anything that would enhance the application.

Again, please note that the sabbatical itself is funded by NSF International NSF International, formerly National Sanitation Foundation, is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization that develops standards and provides product certification and education in the field of public health and safety. . Approximately $5,000 will be made available to the applicant to cover expenses, ranging from transportation to food and lodging.
