Muir Glen introduces new organic fire-roasted canned whole tomatoes, and for the salsa-loving chef, fire-roasted diced tomatoes In the simplest definition, diced tomatoes are just that, tomatoes that have been diced. In the United States retail environment, however, the term refers to a relatively recent arrival in the processed tomato market, generally consisting of canned chunks of plum tomatoes in tomato  with canned medium green chilies. Use them in fresh salads or for a pasta sauce when your garden slows production to a few orangy fruit, or save them in the pantry for a veggie jambalaya jam·ba·lay·a
