A new scholarship for graduate study is now available to dancers through Career Transition for Dancers. The Sono Osato Sono Osato (b. August 29, 1919 in Omaha, Nebraska) is an American dancer and actress of part-Japanese descent.

Osato began her career at the age of fourteen with the Ballet Russe; she later went on to dance with American Ballet Theatre (then Ballet Theatre).
 Scholarship Program for Graduate Studies was established with an endowment gift of $250,000 in honor of the dancer who was one of the first Americans First American may refer to:

  • First American, a division of the now-defunction Bank of Credit and Commerce International.
 in de Basil's Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo

Ballet company formed in Monte Carlo in 1932. The name derived from Sergey Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, which dissolved after his death in 1929. Under René Blum and Col. W.
. Osato also performed on Broadway and in Hollywood films.
